Who I am
This website, wasrahman.com, is run by Was Rahman as an individual. I am responsible for personal information collected through it. You can contact me about privacy using the contact form or by post at: Was Rahman, c/o Zayah Limited, 20-22 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU.
What I collect and why
Messages and permission requests. If you use a form on this site, I collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, organisation and message. I use it to respond to you. For permission requests, I also keep a record of what was agreed. My lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to enquiries and managing the use of my work.
Technical information. When you visit, the hosting provider’s servers and network automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. My lawful basis is legitimate interests: running a secure website.
I do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and I do not sell or share your information for marketing.
Service providers
Personal information is processed on my behalf by:
- Kinsta: website hosting. The site is hosted in London, UK.
- Cloudflare: network security and delivery, used by Kinsta.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: spam protection on the forms. When a page with a form loads, Turnstile processes technical signals such as your IP address and browser details to distinguish people from automated programs. Cloudflare also uses these signals to improve Turnstile, acting as a separate controller (Cloudflare Turnstile privacy addendum).
- Proton Email Protection and SMTP2GO: These services forward messages from the website to me via email.
The fonts used on this site are served from this site’s own server. No information is sent to Google or other font providers.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, it is protected by appropriate safeguards required by UK data protection law.

This site uses only the cookies in the table below. It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

The Cloudflare cookie is strictly necessary for security. It is set by the hosting network when the page is delivered, before the cookie banner appears, so declining in the banner cannot prevent it. If you decline, your choice is remembered and the site works in the same way.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although you may occasionally be asked to confirm that you are not an automated program. To change your banner choice, delete this site’s cookies in your browser, and the banner will appear again.
If I add any other cookies or similar technologies, I will update this policy first. I will ask for consent before using any that are not strictly necessary.
How long I keep information
Messages: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless an ongoing collaboration or discussion requires longer.
Permission requests and my replies: for as long as the permission remains in effect, plus six years. This is the usual period within which a dispute about an agreement could be raised in England and Wales. Requests I decline are kept for 24 months.
Server and security logs: according to the hosting provider’s retention periods.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your personal information
- have it corrected or deleted
- restrict or object to its use
- receive it in a portable format.
To exercise these rights, contact me using the details above. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
I will update this policy if the site’s use of personal information changes. The date below shows the last update.
